Phlebotomist Training in Fort Pierce, West Palm Beach and Oakland Park, Florida

The Phlebotomy program at Paramount Training Services is a 5 week professional development program and examination preparation for National Certification as a Phlebotomist.

The program starts off with theory, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Aspiring phlebotomists learn proper infection control. They receive instruction on how to prepare the blood collection site, how to choose the proper collection tools and how to handle the transportation, processing and management of collected samples. Medical and legal ethics as they relate to phlebotomy services are also taught.

Practicum is incorporated in the class and students practice the blood and specimen collection and handling skills learned. They practice these duties on simulation arms and then students practice drawing blood under supervision of the instructor. Completion of this Certification Training Program in Florida requires passing the practicum portion, which is held on campus, and the course final written exam.

Once the program has been successfully completed, the student can register through the school to take the National Certification Exam, which is held monthly.
